Buying an Online Tennis course might sound weird at the start. Most of my tennis friends cannot even figure out how it can be possible to get support remotely. Furthermore, there are so many free videos on YouTube, so why pay for it?

Purpose of this private and independent website is to debunk the myths and to share my own experience.

Online Tennis can be a great thing, especially in combination with a local tennis coach.

How it started

I have been taking tennis lessons for around twenty years with coaches in Switzerland. One of my partners told me about the tennis YouTube videos he usually watches in the morning.

He is the same age as me, in the early sixties. He is mainly interested in Boris Becker and John McEnroe.

He really likes these videos from the 80s. So, I said to myself “give it a try”. So, I started watching tennis videos early in the morning while having breakfast in front of my computer. YouTube is sensitive to search preferences. Quickly, I came across channels that were closer and closer to my interests.

Overall impressions

The quality of online tennis videos is generally excellent. The advice is sound. Thousands of clips are available for free. Online tennis coaches have no choice but to post free content.

Tennis coaches usually offer a subscription to a course library for a one-time flat fee. In 2024, we are seeing a change in strategy on their part. The offer focuses on an individualized coaching system, with the course library serving as support.

It makes sense. A YouTube user may be frustrated to discover that when purchasing a course library, the content is not much richer than on the online coach channel.

Learning is a process

All change begins with awareness. When one takes tennis lessons, one respects the coach enormously. One is almost in awe of him.

Thanks to YouTube videos and online lesson libraries, I now have a very good understanding of tennis training. This allowed me to tell my coaches that we shouldn’t spend too much time warming up on the small pitch and to have more time available for the rest of the session.

About me

Born in France, in the last 35 years in Switzerland, 61 years old. My playing level would be between 2.5 and 3.0 in the US.

Objectives and recent achievements

My ambitious goal is to win 1 out of 3 matches in the coming winter tournament season. Last season, I have lost all 24 matches, but the results in terms of won games have been steadily improving.

My last season objective was to raise my playing level in order to join a good interclub team. This happened in March with a successful test training.
